Jonathan is a member of the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors® and has enjoyed Accredited Marine Surveyor® status since 1997. He is also a USCG Master of Steam, Motor or Auxiliary Sail up to 100 tons, presently on 8th issue of license.

He has been responsible for overseeing and conducting refits, yard periods, maintenance, crew, ship's movements and well-being and safety of the crew and passengers as a private captain on vessels up to 90 feet in length.
